A diner at a KFC restaurant was left horrified after spotting a rat’s tail hanging from the vent. The customer has been refunded and KFC has issued an apology.

Rodents such as rats and mice are a huge issue for food safety. According to Quality Assurance Mag, the presence of such pests must be treated with seriousness in food facilities because they can contaminate food and cause illnesses. Businesses serving food are required by law to maintain a certain level of hygiene which includes pest control.

While queuing, they were horrified when they noticed what was clearly a rat’s tail hanging from the ceiling.

KFC’s response to the complaint

As per Mirror, KFC has responded to the incident saying that they called pest control to the site immediately and also refunded the customer’s meal.
