Prince William makes new change in military uniform in tribute to King Charles and Queen Elizabeth

Indeed it will be the first for King Charles, who is bringing back an age-old tradition for the big day. Prince William has been doing rehearsals and checks for Saturday as the Colonel of the Welsh Guard.

Prince William has taken on the role of Colonel of the Welsh Guards, as such, he is tasked with checking the final preparations for Saturday’s parade.

Prince William makes a small change to his military uniform
Prince William will be in full uniform on Saturday, with his red dress uniform and a bearskin cap. On the shoulder of his uniform, he has altered it slightly to pay tribute to his grandmother and father.
More under this adMore under this adOn his epaulette, he has embroidered his late grandmother’s royal cypher, as well as his father’s royal cypher. It is interesting to note that Prince William has not included Queen Camilla’s royal cypher on his uniform.
The meaning behind having both the late Queen's royal cypher and his father's cypher is that he has served as personal aide de camp to both monarchs. Indeed Prince William received the role in 2013 from his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, as reported by The Guardian.
