Future Prince George

After Queen Elizabeth II’s death, titles have been a controversial topic in the Royal household. With a lot of shifting and promotions, things have changed for the younger Royals – especially Prince William and Kate’s children – Princes George and Louis and Princess Charlotte.

According to My London, apart from being Prince of Wales, the future king will also inherit the titles of Duke of Cornwall, Earl of Chester, Duke of Rothesay, Earl of Carrick, Baron of Renfrew, Lord of the Isles and Prince and Great Steward of Scotland.

The title originated in 1223 when Llywelyn ap Gruffudd was given this title by the English King Henry III. This was then passed down to King Edward II eventually and since then the title belongs to the male heirs of the throne. Meaning, Prince William holds these titles currently.
