‘Villain’ Adam Collard's return sparks a backlash for Love Island

Adam Collard appeared in series four of Love Island and created quite some chaos. The man was a menace on TV and fans are raging right now as Love Island producers bring him back for the 2022 Love Island series.

Do the producers hate women?

Anyone who has followed Love Island’s previous seasons would know Adam Collard was the devil of a character. The 26-year-old created quite some controversy during his time in series four and his return has sparked a backlash for Love Island producers with many believing that the producers must hate women to put them through Adam once again, reports Independent.

This comes after Adam’s behaviour in series four was rather abusive. He played with three girls - Kendall Knight, Rosie Williams and Zara McDermott – like fiddles. The degree of his nature was so intense that many women’s aid charities had to write statements for him. Thus, it’s natural if Love Island fans are furious right now, as he is set to enter the villa again. Some took to Twitter and wrote:

Adam was so bad on Love Island that Woman’s Aid had to write a statement.

Not enough toxic men in there, eh? They just had to bring Adam back.

While another added:

I never want to see the Love Island bosses/producers pretend to care about mental health again. Not after bringing Adam back, the guy that was so bad Women’s Aid had to write a statement on him.

Series four Adam Collard

In series four, before Adam’s head turned in Casa Amor and he dumped Zara for Darylle Sargeant, he was paired with Kendall Knight, Rosie Williams, and then Zara McDermott during his time on the series. His behaviour with the women on the show prompted Women's Aid - a charity that fights domestic abuse - to issue a warning about recognising warning signals for emotional abuse.

According to Women's Aid, Adam's actions showed obvious warning indicators of emotional abuse. The statement read:

On the latest series of Love Island, there are clear warning signs in Adam’s behaviour.

Last night, Rosie called out Adam’s unacceptable behaviour on the show. We ask viewers to join her in recognising unhealthy behaviour in relationships and speaking out against all forms of domestic abuse – emotional as well as physical.
