Storm Ciarán has caused some serious damage to homes nationwide due to flooding and winds up to 104 mph. As a result, Brits have been cautioned not to travel as it has been deemed dangerous and major delays are to be expected. Here’s how your travel could be affected.

As reported by Metro, train operators have ‘strongly advised’ commuters not to travel until at least Sunday due to clumps of leaves and fallen trees blocking the lines.
Moreover, a yellow weather warning has been issued for London, western and southern England as well as Wales from 6 p.m. tonight. Forecasters believe that Storm Ciarán is the worst storm to hit Britain in 69 years.

Over 100 flights have been cancelled by British Airways and KLM, a Dutch airline due to Storm Ciarán. A spokesperson said, as reported by The Independent:

The destruction caused by Storm Ciarán
Storm Ciarán has left 127,000 homes in the UK without power, as per Metro. Due to the 104 mph winds, roofs have been ripped straight off homes, houses have been destroyed, and several trees have fallen.
More under this adMore under this adOver 300 schools have also closed nationwide. Several people in Jersey have been evacuated to hotels as the winds have uprooted trees and damaged homes.
The Environment Agency has predicted 82 areas are at risk of flooding, with most being on the south coast.
