The last Fox News poll took place in May where Trump was ahead of Biden by 1 point. June poll results show a 3-point change in the presidential race as Biden is up by 2 points — 50%-48%. The poll results are an accumulation of a survey of 1,095 registered voters that were randomly selected.

Apart from being ahead of Trump in a one-on-one match, Biden is also ahead of him by one point (43% to 42%) when other election candidates enter the survey. The Fox News poll showed that independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. came in third with 10% and Cornel West and Jill Stein both got 2%.

With elections in less than 5 months, the race between Trump and Biden is expected to be neck-to-neck. In another poll by The Economist, the chances of Trump winning the 2024 elections keep sliding by the day. On Tuesday, the poll showed Trump had a three in four chance of winning the election and Biden had a one in four chance. The model showed the Republican candidate winning 306 Electoral College votes to Biden’s 232.

However, as of Wednesday, Trump’s chances of winning have slid, reports Newsweek. The model now says the former president is at 300 Electoral College and has a two in three chance of winning the election. Meanwhile, Biden has 238 votes with one in three chances.

Everything we know about the Fox News poll

The bifurcation of the polling results reveals that the increased interest in Biden stems from the voters’ viewpoint of the US economy. More voters than before (32%) now consider it to be in ‘excellent or good’ shape. What worked more in Biden’s favour was his recent announcement of introducing stricter immigration policies.

Further breakdown of the results reveals Biden has the support of 73% of Black voters. This may form a key demographic for him but it is significantly decreased from the 92% black votes that he received during the 2020 elections. Biden has also improved slightly more with women and seniors.
