The former POTUS just turned 78 today. Born on 14 June 1946, Trump has lived in the aftermath of World War II and was brought up by parents of the Greatest Generation of the US, reports CNN. Trump’s 78th birthday comes right after his historic conviction in the Stormy Daniels hush money case that has US prison bosses preparing for his potential jail time.

Turning 78 has occupied Trump’s mind for a while now. Almost two years ago, he asserted to a New York Post gossip columnist:

78 is also the same age that his opponent Joe Biden — who recently responded to claims that he’s too old for office — turned shortly after winning the 2020 US election.

For The Apprentice’s star, his 78th birthday started over the weekend when his Las Vegas supporters spontaneously broke into a ‘Happy Birthday’ song for him. Trump, who is never short of words, appeared speechless in the video as he stepped back from the mic. Just as the crowd finished singing, he said:
There’s a certain point at which you don’t want to hear ‘Happy Birthday.’ You just want to pretend the day doesn’t exist.More under this adMore under this ad
Trump, whose grandfather allegedly ran a brothel, spent the day before his birthday being feted by Republicans in Congress who wished him a happy birthday and gave him a cake and gifts - essentially a baseball and bat from the annual congressional game. According to AP News, Trump was in Washington to meet House and Senate Republicans in Capitol Hill for the first time ever since the 2021 riot.
Today (14 June), he will get another birthday celebration from thousands of his supporters near his home. Trump will be present at Club 47 in West Palm Beach, Florida, a short drive from his Mar-a-Lago residence. Reportedly, the event sold out of all 5,000 tickets at about $35. Some of the closer spots to the stage cost $60.

While the election candidate is busy campaigning, he's often been in the spotlight over his old age and also his health—just like his opponent Joe Biden.
Both the Democrats and Republican candidates for the 2024 Presidency are from the same generation. Three years apart, Trump is now 78 and Biden is 81. Many people have raised questions about their age and remain concerned about how long they will live. As such, The Daily Beast approached Scott Witt, an actuary from Wisconsin to crunch in the numbers for their life expectancy. And the results are amazing!

An array of estimations suggests that they both have an excellent chance of surviving for the next five years. Trump and Biden have outstripped the male life expectancy at the time of their births and have managed to stay away from death in all the other aspects.

Witt explained there is no particular formula per se to determine life expectancy without having the medical records. However, a healthy man of Trump’s years could expect to live for another 14 years and that of Biden’s age could expect to survive for another 12 years. Meaning, Trump can live up to 92 and Biden can live up to 94.
