Subway customer left horrified and 'paranoid' after finding this in sandwich

It is not unheard of for fast-food customers to occasionally be at the receiving end of some very bizarre and shocking things inside their fast-food orders. In the past, customers have be served things as unlikely as dishcloth, shards of glass and even stack of cash inside their orders.

In a recent case, as reported by Kent Live, a woman found a worm hanging from her Subway sandwich. While worms in vegetables might not be the most unheard-of thing in the world, it is a nightmarish scenario for fast-food fans who definitely do not expect to be confronted by caterpillar inside their food.

The women, 25-year-old Liberty Waddle who works for the NHS ordered lunch at the Subway restaurant at the Hempstead Valley Shopping Centre on November 10. As she and her colleagues began to eat their sandwiches, Waddle noticed something weird that was coloured black and hanging out of her sandwich.

Upon checking properly, she came to the horrific conclusion that it was most definitely a caterpillar.

Kent Live quoted her as saying,

Everyone’s eating everything, it’s fine and then I took a mouthful of the sandwich and put it down because I had to answer the phone. Halfway through the phone call I realised, there is something hanging out of my sandwich.

So I finished the phone call and was like inspecting it, pulled the sandwich open and pulled this little black thing out. I had it on my hand, and at first I thought it was like a shrivelled up bit of lettuce.

But then I looked at it and thought, ‘hang on, this thing’s hairy, it has legs and I can see its head’. We’re all looking at this thing like ‘oh my god, it’s a caterpillar.’

Never eating another Subway sandwich again

The customer was left mortified and disgusted. She says,

I’m never ever eating Subway again in my life, the thought of it just turns my stomach - I’m absolutely livid, I’m so annoyed. Now, every time I eat anything, even if I make it at home, I will pick my dinner to pieces because I am so paranoid.

A Subway spokesperson responded to the incident saying that they are currently investigating the matter.
