Family left horrified after McDonald’s serves their 7-year-old dishcloth-stuffed chicken wrap

As reported by Mirror, what was to be a fun Saturday take-out meal for a family from Derry, Northern Ireland, turned into a disaster because of a McDonald’s Chicken Wrap.

As the father of the family, Martin Holmes, handed each family member their orders, he noticed something bizarre when he was about the give his 7-year-old his chicken wrap. Instead of the McDonald’s Chicken Wrap, the sealed McDonald's box contained just a dishcloth.

Regarding the incident, Mirror quoted Martin Holmes,
My son was sitting on my right and the minute he opened it, I saw the white material inside and I thought, 'What have they wrapped this in?More under this adMore under this ad
I couldn't believe it when I saw the dish cloth. Someone in the kitchen put this in the packet, sealed it up and put it out to go to a customer.
Martin Holmes’ wife immediately went back to the McDonald’s in question and reported the matter. The food chain reacted very apologetically, along with offering the family food vouchers to be used in the future.

Someone has made the decision to fold the cloth neatly and place it into the packaging. I have never seen anything like it and never heard of anything similar before.
McDonald’s response to the mistake
More under this adMore under this adThe report stated that the people responsible for the incident have been identified by McDonald’s and have been held responsible for the actions by being asked to leave, though it is unclear if they were fired.
The fuming dad also wrote to Environmental Health about the matter. A spokesperson of Derry City and Strabane District Council, is quoted by Mirror as saying,
More under this adMore under this adThe matter has been fully investigated with the food premises. Investigations are now complete and the complainant is satisfied with the outcome and with the Department’s response.
A McDonald's spokesperson also offered their apology for the restaurant failing to meet its internal quality standards. It seems that for now, the matter has been resolved and hopefully, no other families will receive the same terrible surprise with their McDonald's order.
