Shopper left horrified after scary find inside pie sold by major supermarket

Supermarkets such as Aldi and Tesco are well known for well-priced and delicious meal deals. While enjoying supermarket goodies might be most people’s favourite part of a grocery trip, things did not end as expected for a 68-year-old shopper at Aldi’s.

As reported by StrokeonTrentLive, the shopper ate a pie from Aldi only to find something quite unexpected and shocking inside.

The customer, James Smith, brought a cheese and onion quiche meal from Aldi and began eating it, when out of the blue, he bit into something hard.
More under this adMore under this adWhen Mr. Smith took the object out and examined it, he shockingly discovered that it was a shard of glass. As per the report, the piece of glass was approximately three centimetres long and that’s not all, upon further inspection, the customer found a second shard of glass in the pie.
He recounted his experience, saying,
When I crunched on it, it felt like a bone. Immediately, I was stunned and horrified. I showed it to my wife and she couldn’t believe it. When I poked around in the food I was dumbfounded.More under this adMore under this ad
It looked like a very long stem of a wine glass or a laboratory pipette. One piece was about three centimetres long and the other four centimetres.
Mr. Smith also highlighted the dangers of accidentally ingesting sharp objects, saying,
It could have lacerated the inside of my mouth, my throat, my oesophagus, and my stomachMore under this adMore under this ad
Aldi’s response to the matter
Aldi responded to the incident saying that it would be ‘difficult to investigate’ the matter since there was other food in Mr. Smith’s plate at the time the glass shard was first discovered.

Upon reviewing this complaint further, and with the images you have shared with us, we can see that multiple products were used in your meal. Sadly, this does make it difficult for us to start an investigation with any of our suppliers as we would be unable to determine which product and which supplier this has possibly come from.
The supermarket offered the mortified customer a £30 voucher, which he deemed ‘insulting.’
