McDonald's axing 5 popular items this week including the Chicken Big Mac

McDonald's is gearing up to make some major changes in their food offerings this spring. The brand has already started strong last month, when McDonald's announced that it plans to make major changes to recipes of some of its most iconic items. Along with this the fast-food chain is also set to bring back some very popular items as McDonald's has just revealed its latest menu for the coming month with exciting new burgers and dips.

Sadly for some McDonald's fans, the menu shake-up means that the brand is going to be axing some items from last season. As reported by Mirror, the fast-food giant is going to be axing 5 popular items from this week.

McDonald's axing these popular items

The new menu is going to hit McDonald's counters starting May 10.

Here is a list of all the items coming off the menu this week:

• Chicken Big Mac, which was very popular with fans. It features two crispy chicken patties made with 100% chicken breast meat, cheese, lettuce, pickles, and Big Mac sauce
• Steakhouse Stack, had two 100% beef patties, a slice of cheddar cheese, crispy onions, red onions and lettuce topped with a creamy peppercorn sauce, all in a freshly toasted bun.
• Mozzarella Dippers, which are sticks of Mozzarella cheese coated in breadcrumbs and served with Salsa dip

Among desserts, fans will have to bid adieu to the following McFlurry flavours:

• Cadbury Creme Egg McFlurry
• Cadbury Caramel Egg McFlurry

New items to be introduced by McDonald's

McDonald's is having a total of 8 new menu items. The brand is introducing some new and exciting variations of their super-hit Big Tasty burger. Spicy Big Tasty combines the classic Big Tasty burger and adds a spicy kick to the recipe. Big Tasty with Bacon is another take on the hit burger that comes with bacon.

Along with this, the fast-food giant has something super special in store to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Chicken McNuggets this May. The brand is introducing brand new dipping sauces for fans to try out with the iconic McNuggets. Mega Hot Sauce Dip and new Garlic Mayo will be dropped by McDonald's from 10th May. Two other new sauces Chipotle Mayo and a Creamy Ranch dip will join the menu line-up on May 31.

McDonald's is also bringing back fan-fav Halloumi Fries, and introducing Wispa McFlurry for fans who have a sweet tooth.
