Love Island faces backlash over Sammy's behaviour as fans complaint to Ofcom

Summer Love Island fans complain to Ofcom over Sammy's behaviour

Summer Love Island fans were left devastated tonight as Sammy made Catherine cry - making it a total of three girls crying over his behaviour in three days. Catherine and Whitney got into an argument with Sammy over his remarks about them being the least compatible couples and not him and Jess.

Catherine told Sammy:

You made a weird comment about physical attraction.

To which Sammy replied:

Obviously, you and Mehd's get on well, whatever. You and Scott get on well. But I just feel like me and Jess are far, far more compatible.

Many fans believe that his comment had racist undertones. One tweeted:

The 2 girls Sammy went for. The 2 girls he thinks their boys could never be attracted to. Hmmmm. It’s giving RACISM! Who does he actually think he is though?! Man looks like a pug and not in a cute way!

They threaten to make Ofcom complaints over Sammy's behaviour. One said:

Ofcom is going to be very busy tonight because of Sammy and rightly so

Another two added:

I’m going to report Sammy’s racist ass to ofcom

Summer Love Island fans convinced Sammy's apology was fake

Sammy was seen later apologising for what he said and Catherine forgave him easily. However, many fans are convinced that the apology was orchestrated by show bosses to prevent backlash and ofcom complaints. One said:

Them producers told Sammy to apologise to avoid ofcom complaints

A second tweeted:

I just know Sammy didn’t apologise from his own good will. The producers deffo forced it

Two others added:

The producers defo told Sammy to apologise. Catherine has no choice but to accept it bless her

If production are going to tell Sammy to apologise at least tell him what to say for that apology was shockingly bad

A fifth concluded:

Sammy’s apology wasn’t genuine, the way he ran to get up as soon as she said that’s fine and didn’t even let her finish her sentence 😐 she’s only squashing it because she doesn’t want to feel awkward around him
