Queen Camilla pushing to include her grandchildren in coronation
Queen Camilla’s family from her first husband has often been a source of speculation. Indeed when Queen Elizabeth’s health was deteriorating, many were curious whether or not Camilla’s children would get titles (hint: they didn’t).
More under this adMore under this adAccording to reports, Queen Camilla is pushing to give her grandchildren, King Charles’ step-grandchildren, a role in the coronation. The Queen Consort allegedly wants her five grandchildren - who are all teenagers - to hold the canopy over her head as she is anointed with holy water.
Traditionally, this is carried out by duchesses. As reported by Express, a source said:
The Queen Consort has said she does not want duchesses. She would like it to be her grandchildren. It’s a significant decision given the fact Camilla's grandchildren have been largely shielded from the spotlight over the years.More under this adMore under this ad
Another source told The Times:
It sends a nice signal and is quite a bold move. It is another example of the King and Queen Consort being unafraid to shake things up a bit to reflect the realities of modern life, of which a blended family is a central element.

Mixed feelings about the 'blended family' on the internet
As with any decision made by the Royal Family, it has been met with mixed feelings. Some believe it is good that Queen Camilla wants to include her grandchildren in the sacred ceremony. One user wrote on Twitter:
It’s a very personal part of the ceremony. Having her grandchildren do this, is a lovely idea.More under this adMore under this ad
While another commented:
I think it's beautiful. Her family deserves to be a part of THEIR special day and ceremony.
However, not everyone shares this family sentiment. On Twitter, several Royal Family fans have already criticised the Queen Consort for the alleged decision and the public backlash could grow.

One user wrote on Twitter:
Can anyone explain why Camila's grandchildren are given a place in the coronation and nothing is mentioned about the Royal children of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge that are Charles grandchildren.More under this adMore under this ad
Some have pointed out that it seems fine for Charles and Camilla to break traditions but not for Prince Harry and Meghan. One user wrote:

Bringing George in also sends all the right symbolism for the future and gives him something he will always remember. It is certainly different — this coronation is getting more interesting by the minute.More under this adMore under this ad
