Queen Camilla is making history
It has been announced that Queen Camilla will be crowned with Queen Mary’s Crown. The reason this decision is making history is because it is the first time that a crown is being reused for a coronation. Normally they would have a new one made for the Queen Consort.
More under this adMore under this adBuckingham Palace said that the decision was made ‘in the interests of sustainability and efficiency’ which reflects King Charles and Queen Camilla’s beliefs. However, the Queen Consort will keep some traditions by making the crown her own:

Queen Camilla making £50m alterations
Queen Camilla has decided to pay tribute to her late mother-in-law on the coronation day by adding jewels from her collection.
More under this adMore under this adIndeed the Queen Consort has decided to add the Cullinan III, IV and V diamonds to Queen Mary’s Crown. Queen Elizabeth often wore the Cullinan III and the Cullinan IV diamonds together as a brooch, which are estimated to be worth around £50 million.
Moreover, four of the crown’s arches will be removed to give it a new look. Finally, the crown won’t feature the controversial Koh-i-Noor diamond or its replica.
