According to the tabloid, Prince Andrew has come to an agreement with the Dutch-based firm Startupbootcamp (SBC) to use contacts he made from his Pitch@Palace initiative.

Per The Sun, the deal was first proposed to Buckingham Palace in the summer of 2024. Following the proposition, King Charles allegedly pulled £1 million from his annual funding for Prince Andrew.

An unnamed source explained that this deal is how Prince Andrew can afford to remain at Royal Lodge:

He will earn money from each deal SBC secures from his Pitch@Palace work, and the windfall will help enable him to hold on to Royal Lodge. It is a way of exploiting the enviable business links he has secured over the years.

The major bills Prince Andrew faces at the Royal Lodge

As many know, there were rumours that Prince Andrew potentially faced eviction from Royal Lodge in 2024, as King Charles offered his younger brother Frogmore Cottage.

However, the Duke of York is said to have refused to give up the historical building. Per the lease Prince Andrew signed when he moved into Royal Lodge, he is the one responsible for the building's upkeep, which can be expensive, as the building must keep with the history and style of the Grade II listed home.

According to Terry Fisher, a property expert at We Buy Any Home, Prince Andrew may see an increase in bills as the size alone of the land requires ‘regular attention’; otherwise, it can quickly become unmanageable.

He told GB News:

Without regular attention, overgrowth can quickly spiral out of control, requiring professional intervention to restore order.

Adding:

Maintaining 21 acres of gardens at a property like Royal Lodge would typically require a dedicated team of four to six gardeners, depending on the complexity of the landscaping.

Terry Fisher estimated the amount of money required to maintain Royal Lodge’s garden. He believes it could cost the Prince anywhere from £30,000 to £40,000 annually.
