Prince Andrew has been involved in a scandal for several years now after it was revealed that he had a close relationship with convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein, he had initially denied a friendship with him.

New documents have been revealed which show that Prince Andrew allegedly had daily massages whilst spending ‘weeks’ at Epstein’s home in Florida. As new calls for Prince Andrew to be investigated are coming to light, it seems as though the Palace may be trying to distance themselves from the disgraced Duke once again.

King Charles will allegedly cut Prince Andrew’s security fund

As reported by The Telegraph, King Charles will stop funding his brother's security operations at Royal Lodge. This means that Prince Andrew will now have to fund his own security.

Prince Andrew is currently living at Royal Lodge with his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson but will now need to figure out how to fund his lifestyle to maintain his security and to afford the upkeep of the 30-room property in Windsor, which reportedly needs extensive repairs.

This may pose problems for the Duke of York as he has no income. He was offered to move into the smaller home of Frogmore Cottage, which used to house Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan before they were evicted at the beginning of 2023.

The Palace has refused to comment on the situation, but King Charles reportedly pulling funds from his brother may be seen as his way of distancing the Firm from Prince Andrew, despite him attending the Christmas Day walkabout.

Labour Party calls for new investigation against Prince Andrew

With the newly revealed documents, the Labour Party is calling for the police to launch a new investigation on Prince Andrew. Labour Party leader Sir Keir Starmer said:

I think wherever there’s a complaint made it’s inevitable that it should be looked at.‌

I mean, we have to start with the victims here and look at what allegations have been made. I’ve seen the headlines on this, not the detail… but frankly whoever it is, where there are allegations, credible allegations made, then of course they should be looked at.

Moreover, the anti-monarchy group, Republic has made a formal complaint demanding that the Metropolitan Police launch a new investigation.

On Friday, January 5, the Met Police issued a statement explaining that they had not opened a new investigation against Prince Andrew:

We are aware of the release of court documents in relation to Jeffrey Epstein. As with any matter, should new and relevant information be brought to our attention we will assess it.
