It is believed that Prince Andrew is reluctant to leave the property and it looks like he doesn’t have to, not yet at least.

The move has now been postponed by King Charles due to Prince Andrew’s ex-wife Sarah Ferguson who also live in Royal Lodge still recovering from her breast cancer surgery.

Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson’s move to Frogmore Cottage postponed

Prince Andrew moved to the luxury Royal Lodge in 2003 after signing a 74-year lease. The property is located near Windsor Castle and is owned by the Crown Estate, a for-profit company which manages all the monarchy’s assets.

But as Andrew's financial situation changed in the last years, the King’s brother is unlikely to be able to maintain his life in a pricey 30-room royal house.

Heavily impacted by the scandal surrounding his friendship with Jeffrey Epstein, he allegedly had to pay millions in settlement to Virginia Giuffre who accused him of sex crimes.

Sources claim that Prince Andrew doesn’t have sufficient income to pay Royal Lodge rent and upkeep.

And while Charles still covers Andrew’s personal security, he wants his brother out of the Royal Lodge and into the Frogmore Cottage, which is smaller and inside the security zone, in a bid to cut costs.

Sources revealed that Prince Andrew - who is reportedly reluctant to leave his home of twenty years - doesn’t have to do it just yet.

The Duchess of Yorkwas diagnosed with cancer during a routine mammogram.

It’s not yet known what further treatment she will face or how long it will take for her to recover.

Sarah Ferguson’s friend said:

She is resting at home. It was major surgery.

They also revealed that her daughters, Beatrice and Eugenie, ‘are being very supportive, as is Andrew.’

It is likely that the King’s brother will eventually have to move houses as Frogmore Cottage is not only cheaper to maintain but will also cut security costs.
