Sarah Ferguson’s spokesperson announced on Sunday, June 25, that the Duchess of York has been ‘advised she needed to undergo surgery which has taken place successfully’ after being diagnosed with breast cancer.

Also known as Fergie, she was married to Prince Andrew and still lives at Royal Lodge with her ex-husband. It is said that Fergie returned home to Royal Lodge after her surgery and is resting at home.

Sarah Ferguson was diagnosed with breast cancer
On Sunday, June 25, Fergie’s spokesperson announced that she had undergone surgery to treat breast cancer. The Duchess of York received ‘the best medical care’ at King Edwards VII hospital, which is where Queen Elizabeth was also treated and other senior Royals.

Sarah Ferguson’s ‘prognosis is good’
As mentioned before, her spokesperson revealed that the surgery was a success and according to her doctors Fergie’s ‘prognosis is good’. The Duchess of York is now resting at her shared home in Windsor.
More under this adMore under this adIt has also been reported that today, Monday, June 26, Fergie will release an episode of her podcast, Tea Talk where she will talk about her breast cancer diagnosis. The episode was pre-recorded, so the Duchess of York isn’t straining herself after such major surgery.
It has not been announced whether or not Fergie will have any follow-up treatment such as radiation or chemotherapy, which may not be needed as it was an ‘early form of breast cancer’.
