What happens to the body?
The answer is simple – nothing! Your body won’t shout out to the world that you had sex unless you do. However, while having sex there will be a lot of sweat (it’s a workout, really), heavy breathing and a flushed face. Your vulva may swell a little because of all the blood flow, but it’ll come back to the original shape soon after sex. As for your hymen, it may stretch and cause bleeding, but most people born with hymen have somehow already broken it before first-time sex.

Well, this isn’t easy to describe. First-time sex is not at all how rom-coms portray it to be. You will feel a bit of discomfort since the entire experience is new to you. If you do feel pain, it will be because of friction but hey, that’s what lubricants are for.

Orgasm?
Sorry to burst your bubble, but it’s a NO! The first time is more about being awkward, shy and just trying to figure out how things work. Did you do algebra in your first maths class? No, right? The same goes for sex, the first will be far from orgasm but hopefully won’t take that long once you understand your body.
Pregnancy?
Of course, yes! So, you have to be super careful and use protection or birth control methods that suit you the best.

Safety during first-time sex is of utmost importance as their pull-out game may not be as good as needed. Well, even if their pull-out game is good, it’s always risky to practice unsafe sex. Here are some methods you can use to practice safe sex:
- External Condoms
- Condom-safe lubrication
- Internal Condoms
- Birth Control Pills
In case, you do have unprotected sex, visit your gynaecologist and get yourself tested. The test is not just for pregnancy – you won’t know that until a few weeks later – but it is for STDs. As for pregnancy, use emergency contraceptive pills right away to avoid any complications.
