Vladimir Putin’s alleged ‘secret girlfriend’ praises war propagandists in rare public appearance

Ex-Olympic gymnast and Vladimir Putin’s alleged 'secret girlfriend', Alina Kabaeva, has made a rare public appearance at an event in Moscow marking the founding of the pro-Putin National Media Group [NMG], which she heads.

Russian propaganda 'is like a combat weapon'
At the event, Kabeava warned that Russians are engaged in a 'fight for our country' and praised Putin’s war propagandists who frequently threaten nuclear war as being as important as Kalashnikov machine guns. She said:

Our people need this success because today, the information work – in the conditions, in which we live and fight for our country – is like a combat weapon. And in terms of importance, it is in no way inferior to a Kalashnikov assault rifle.
Kabeava added that 'war correspondents are well aware of this' and declared 'let’s keep working'.

Kabaeva is 'mysterious and secretive'
While Kabaeva is a renowned figure in Russia, she’s hardly ever seen in public. Cosmopolitan Russia described her as 'the most mysterious and secretive woman in our country'.
At the event, Kabaeva wore what appeared to be a wedding ring. While there have been rumours that Kabeava and Putin are married, there has been little to no evidence to support this claim. Could this be a hint that the rumours are true?
