So far, £27 billion worth of equipment has reportedly been destroyed. Indeed, just last month a former Russian colonel humiliated Vladimir Putin by revealing that half of the Russian army’s equipment is unusable. Colonel Sergey Gulyaev explained that the fighting forces - the airforce, infantry and navy - had only received 421 pieces of new equipment between them in 2021.
The calculations suggest that Russia is spending £242 million per day in its war efforts. Funding military operations is one of the major expenses, costing the country about £41bn, while salaries for servicemen add up to around £28bn.
