The Ukraine Ministry of Defense (MoD) has lashed out at Russian President Vladimir Putin on Twitter after a devastating series of missile strikes that hit multiple civilian targets in Ukraine on Friday 28 April.

Russia reportedly launched over 20 cruise missiles and two drones at Ukrainian territory. According to officials, 11 of the cruise missiles and the two drones were successfully intercepted over the capital of Kyiv.
More under this adMore under this adThe missile attacks reportedly killed at least 25 people, including five children. Most of the deaths took place in the central Ukraine city of Uman, where officials said a strike on a nine-story apartment building left 23 civilians dead, including four children.

According to a Telegram post from regional Governor Serhiy Lysak, an attack on the eastern Ukraine city of Dnipro also killed a 31-year-old woman and her 2-year-old daughter.

Russia described as a 'terrorist state'
The attacks also drew condemnation from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The former wrote in a Facebook post:
The Russian federation launched yet another massive missile attack on civilian facilities and residential buildings. Unfortunately, there were hits that killed and wounded civilians.More under this adMore under this ad
Having failed to achieve the desired results on the battlefield, the Russian aggressor cynically continues to use tactics of terror in gross violation of the rules of International Humanitarian Law.
Meanwhile, Zelenskyy said in a video posted on Twitter:
A Russian missile on Uman, a city that is absolutely peaceful, known to the whole world for hosting tens of thousands of Hasidic pilgrims every year ... Only absolute evil can unleash such terror against Ukraine.More under this adMore under this ad
He claimed that Ukraine's Air Force was able to shoot down 21 out of 23 of the missiles, preventing the 'Russian terrorist state' from 'claiming many more casualties, more lives'.
Czech President Petr Pavel, currently visiting Ukraine, also believes the attacks were 'intentional'. He told Czech media:

Kremlin not interested in peace
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said the attacks were evidence that the Kremlin is not interested in a peace deal. He wrote on Twitter:
