Several major supermarkets have been forced to withdraw this product due to this risk of bits of plastic inside.

A food recall has been issued by several major supermarkets, including Tesco, Morrisons and Asda as the item is thought to have bits of plastic inside.

The product in question is Frozen Quorn Swedish Style Meatballs by Quorn foods, which is being withdrawn from all shelves and customers are being advised not to eat the item if they have already bought it.

Frozen Quorn Swedish Style Meatballs

Quorn Foods is recalling its Frozen Quorn Swedish Style Balls because they may contain pieces of hard white plastic.

The presence of plastic could make the product unsafe to eat and is a potential choking hazard so consumers are advised not to eat it.

The Frozen Quorn Swedish Style Balls affected come in a pack size of 300g and have a best before date of September 30, 2024.

This product is sold at a number of major supermarkets, including Tesco, Morrisons, Sainsbury's, Asda and Waitrose, where it retails at between £2 and £2.50, and customers can take the item back for a full refund.

However, the product is only being recalled in England and Scotland, as batches in Wales and Northern Ireland have not been affected.

Food Standards Agency

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) reported the recent food recall, and shared in a risk statement, as per FSA:

This product may contain small pieces of plastic which makes them unsafe to eat and presents a potential choking hazard.

Quorn is recalling the above product from customers. The company has also issued a recall notice to its customers. If you have bought the above product, do not eat it.
