If you are struggling to cope with the consequences of the cost of living crisis, you may be eligible for over £90 in cash or supermarket vouchers from your local council.

The extra money comes from the Household Support Fund (HSF) which was launched by UK Government two years ago, in a bid to help the ones with the lowest income cope with the rising expenses. This pot of cash is now worth £842 million and offers a helping hand with bills, food and energy vouchers, and other costs, all depending on your local council as it sets the rules and distributes it.

The recent announcement comes as the majority of the low-income families have now received the first instalment of the £900 cost of living payment. If you are still waiting for it, contact the Department for Work and Pensions directly.
You may receive over £90 in support within days
The Household Support Fund was first introduced in October 2021 and has been extended four times since then as way too many families still struggle with the aftermaths of the Covid-19 pandemic while the ongoing war in Ukrainekeeps food and energy prices high.

Here is how to apply for the extra £90 in support
To be eligible for the help from Nottingham's Household Support Fund you have to be on a low income or claim means-tested benefits such as Universal Credit, income-based Jobseekers Allowance, Working Tax Credit, Child Tax Credit and Pension Credit.
Those entitled can apply online via the Nottingham Council website from May 22. If your application is successful - you’ll receive the money within 10 working days.
