After last year's "Inspiring Women" series, on Tuesday, September 25, Mattel announced the release of its first series of gender-neutral dolls. They encourage children of all gender identifications to play with them. Take a look.

Social attitudes are changing and so is Mattel. On Tuesday, September 25, the brand announced the release of "Creatable World," their new series of non-gendered dolls.

Picture this: a customizable doll kit (£35). Inside this kit, you'll find a doll with short hair. This doll comes with accessories, hair extensions, and different sets of clothing. A celebration of diversity, the "Creatable World" dolls come in six different skin tones.

Mattel's senior vice president Kim Culmone explained that "toys are a reflection of culture and as the world continues to celebrate the positive impact of inclusivity, we felt it was time to create a doll line free of labels."

So there's that! Gender-neutral dolls will "give kids the freedom to make their dolls look like whatever they want”, freeing them from the weight of society and the norms that weigh on them from an early age.
