According to a report by TheTelegraph, Kim Jong-unhas been busy building new mansions and expanding his ownership of luxury complexes.

Network of private resorts and estates
Kim Jong-un is said to own several private islands and luxury estates in picturesque parts of North Korea that are off-limits to the general public.
More under this adMore under this adIn addition to his properties, it is believed that Kim and his family indulge in a luxury lifestyle, enjoying top-ranged whisky, fine foods, and expensive cars.
According to The Telegraph, in 2021, Kim started the development of a four-storey tower with an excess of 21,000 square meters, while starting in early September a new mansion spanning over 2,300 square meters is being erected.
More under this adMore under this adThe construction is taking place in a private area at Yonphung Lake, which is not accessible by the general public and in which Kim already had a luxury complex.
The Sun reported earlier in September that Kim is building eight new mansions in order to confuse potential assassins.
Luxury despite widespread poverty and famine
The excessive lifestyle of the dictator comes at a steep price for the roughly 26 million North Koreans who are denied basic foods and goods.
