This anxious blind dog finally found a loving stress-free home
More under this adThis blind dog spent over a year in a rescue with no one wanting to adopt it. Just when the anxious pup and its carers started to lose hope, the most incredible thing happened.
A six-year-old blind border collie named Jacko was struggling in a kennel for more than a year, and still, no special human stepped up to offer him a forever home. But the wait was well worth it when Sue saw Jacko on TikTok and knew immediately that it was a pup who'd help her get through a rough patch and that she needed him as much as he needed her.

Struggled in kennels
Blind dog Jacko has been at UK-based Many Tears Animal Rescue centre for over a year and it seemed like no one wanted to adopt him.

Although the pup was very popular with all the staff and they would fill his days as much as possible every day, it wasn’t the same as being in a home environment.
Jacko needed a loving family as soon as possible.

Despite being unable to see, Jacko stayed cheerful and sweet-natured. The rescue’s volunteers described him as ‘extremely cuddly, affectionate, intelligent and a very happy lovely boy’ and were confident he’d make a wonderful pet. But due to Jacko’s ‘need for gentle, slow introductions’, adoption progress was very slow.
To avoid any additional stress for the pup, Many Tears Animal Rescue decided to only match him with adult-only families, able to offer a calm environment. Outdoor space was also a must, to avoid having to go out on the streets and public playing areas.

A perfect new family
Sue, a dog mama and trainer, came across a TikTok video of Jacko and got very interested. When she came to meet him, it was love at first sight, The Dodo writes.

Though Jacko ‘struggled with his new regime of complete freedom’ at first, he warmed up to his owner in no time. And he didn’t just get a new home, but also a new canine companion called Zoom.
Cassie Mogford said:
Sue has worked wonders with him. She has acres of land for Jacko to run free, and she’s a dog trainer with experience [training] blind dogs. We couldn't have asked for a better home!More under this adMore under this ad
According to Sue, Jacko helped her too. She confessed that she has been going through a rough patch lately, but having this sweet-natured furry kid to focus on has helped lift her spirits.
