She spent her short life in a shelter
Lacey, a two-year-old American Bulldog pup, spent almost all her life in a shelter. She came to Good Life Dog Rescue from a local stray kennel as a tiny pup, looking skinny and visibly struggling with skin issues. The charity took her in and provided her with much-needed vet care. They were heartbroken to find out that Lacey was also totally deaf. But they saw that despite her disability, she was an affectionate, energetic, and funny pup. They knew from day one that she'd make an amazing pet.

Lacey lives in a silent world, and it is sometimes difficult for her to communicate with humans and other dogs. But the witty pooch learnt all her basic commands and now responds well to sign language. She happily follows others to walks and activities. Being deaf doesn’t stop her from being a curious and life-loving animal.

The pup has spent almost two years, virtually all her life, in a shelter and no one seems special enough to offer this pooch their unconditional love. As searching for a perfect match is taking such a long time, Lacey became one of the charity’s Lonely Hearts Club members and their special appeal dog.

Are you a special human for Lacey?
Lacey will be happy in a quiet home without small children and lots of visiting strangers due to her communication struggles. She will also need a lot of guidance and training to support her special needs.
Ideally, her human will have experience with larger rescue dogs with reactive behaviour and an understanding of deaf pets. But this is not as important as dedication and unconditional love.
