In the past couple of months, viral videos in this genre have included recipes that combine butter with vodka, and even French onion soup and pasta. Here is another recipe on TikTok that is blowing people’s mind.

Sushi and pizza are hugely popular foods, and maybe you like them both. But have you have considered combining sushi and pizza?

In case you are wondering how it would turn out, look no further than the video of TikTok creator @wavemountdora where they shared a combination of pizza and sushi, calling it ‘sushi pizza.’

Here's what a 'sushi pizza' is

@wavemountdora shared their recipe in a video captioned,

Did you know we can fry the base our sushi pizza making it easier to lift & enjoy?! Just specify when ordering!

The video shows a pizza where the toppings consist of sushi. First, the seaweed roll or nori is cut in a pizza-like triangle shape. Then, this is plunged in a batter and fried for a crunchy base.

The sushi rice is slathered on top, just as you would in case of a normal sushi. Then the fresh tuna, salmon, cucumber and edamame are placed on top.

So in essence, the sushi pizza is like an open sushi that has not been rolled. It looks like a pizza but still tastes very much like sushi.

With the unlikely pairing of sushi and pizza, needless to say, the video generated some pretty strong opinions from viewers.
