McDonald's fans shocked and livid about new policy: 'real end of days stuff'

While picking up your favourite foods at your neighbourhood McDonald’s, there are certain things that you usually take for granted, such as the soda being more deliciousthan at any other fast-food restaurants, the drive-thru working smoothly, or the fact that you expect to be able to get the dips for your McDonald’s nuggets for free.

However, a TikTok is doing the rounds on the Internet which shows McDonald’s has started charging 10p for their dips. The video is going viral as fans have reacted pretty strongly to the latest developments. The TikTok has been viewed over 19 million times already.

The video shows a McDonald’s employee putting up a sticker that says, ‘Dips from 10p.’

It has to be noted that since McDonald’s are franchisee-owned, some policies applicable in a particular store might not be applied elsewhere.

Reactions to the video

Fans has some pretty strong reactions to the video. Some invoked the cost of living crisis. A person wrote,

You know times are truly tough when McDonald’s begin charging £0.10p a pop for BBQ dip

While another mourned the tough times, saying,

Dips now 10p at McDonald's real end of days stuff.

A different commenter took the opportunity to complain about the service saying,

they can't even get my order right yet they have the audacity to try and charge for dips?

There were others who pointed out that this was already standard practice in some other countries. A fan wrote,

Dips in the Netherlands are around €0,60 cents

While others pointed out that depending on the franchisee, some McDonald’s do charge for dips even in the UK. A person explained,

dips always cost 10p, its just most stores don't enforce it. my old store did it for select sauces only (the big sauces)
