Tesco, Asda, Morrisons and Lidl have all recalled several products from selected stores across the country.

Some major supermarkets in the UK are removing several products from their shelves over various health concerns. The retailers, Tesco, Asda, Morrisons and Lidl have apologized to their customers, asking them to retain the products for full refunds, according to Chronicle Live. The recalls, issued by the Food Standards Agency, are to create awareness about products deemed unfit for sale.

White lasagne sauce

Asda has recalled its white lasagne sauce because of a possible microbiological contamination risk due to a production fault. The issue only affects products sold at Asda stores in the North West of England, North Midlands and North Wales. Consumers are being warned not to eat the product which has a best-before-date of February 03, 2024

Smoked mackerel fillets

Lidl is recalling Eridanous Greek Style Smoked Mackerel Fillet with Olives and Oregano with Soy Oil because Listeria monocytogenes has been found in the product, a statement from the FSA says.

Symptoms caused by this organism can be similar to flu and include high temperature, muscle ache or pain, chills, feeling or being sick and diarrhoea. However, in rare cases, the infection can be more severe, causing serious complications, such as meningitis.

People above 65 years, pregnant women, unborn babies, babies below 12 months and people with weakened immune systems are the most vulnerable to Listeria infections.

Vegetarian burgers

Linda McCartney is recalling Linda McCartney 2 Vegetarian 1/4lb Burgers because the product contains milk which is not mentioned on the label.

This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents. According to the FSA:
