Four-day routine

Day 1 – Exfoliation

The aim for the first night is to remove any dead skin and prepare for the days ahead. Exfoliating on day 1 allows the skin to absorb the ingredients to come. Pick an exfoliator based on your skin type and what works best for you.

Day 2 – Retinol/Retinoid

The next night is for retinol. Since it’s a powerful product, it’s essential to familiarise your skin with it first. Dr Bowe adds:

However, if you try to use them too frequently, or layer them with other potentially irritating ingredients, you end up with inflammation rather than results.

Days 3 and 4 – Recover
