Andi Norton had a Lego up their nose

32-year-old Andi Norton, from Arizona, USA, who identifies as they/them, had sinus issues and trouble breathing properly for as long as they could remember. They had to wait 25 years before they finally found out what had been causing their problems. Indeed, after a big sneeze in the shower, they heard the sound of something falling on the bathroom floor. That is when they recovered a small bright yellow Lego piece that had been lodged inside their nose for more than two decades.

They suddenly remembered how it all started. In 1998, then 6-year-old Andi had the brilliant idea of putting a small piece of Lego, which looks like a bit of corn, up their nose. Andi Norton explained on their Instagram account:

I just thought maybe I could just stick it in my nose. I don’t know why I did that. Kids in the 90s just did s**t.

They waited for 25 years to get the piece out

Seeing as they couldn't recover the piece of Lego with their fingers, Andi tried pulling it out with a bigger piece, which somehow did not work, and pushed the bit further up the nose. They explained:

And of course, the Lego head popped off in my nose. So now that was also stuck in my nose.

Andi Norton's mother fished out the bigger piece with a pair of tweezers but the small yellow one remained, as she did not know it was stuck inside along with the big figurine. That particular piece got stuck up Andi's nose for 25 years. They told Newsweek they believed their sinus issues were caused by allergies:

Since I am allergic to cats, dogs, grass, many of the native trees, and dust, and I've always been exposed to one or more of these things, I lived my life assuming any congestion issues were just simply caused by the allergies.

Andi Norton has also said they are planning to see a doctor, but the ordeal has become a running joke among friends and family. They said:

It's so far out there that all you really can do to react is laugh. It's become such a silly joke now with all my friends and family, all poking lighthearted fun about it.
