The Crown’s Emma Corrin thanks Diana in emotional Golden Globes speech

Emma Corrin beat off fierce competition from Ozark star Laura Linney, Ratched’s Sarah Paulson and Killing Eve’s Jodie Comer. She also beat her co-star Olivia Colman who was nominated for the second year running for her role as Queen Elizabeth II, having won the award last year.

Appearing via video link to accept the award, an emotional Emma thanked the cast and crew of The Crown, including her ‘Prince Charming Josh’ O’Connor, who also picked up the Best Actor in a Television Drama series award for his portrayal of Prince Charles in the Netflix series.

Which Golden Globes did The Crown win?
It was a big night for The Crown. As well as the awards for Emma Corrin and Josh O’Connor, Gillian Anderson also won the Best Supporting Actress, Television award for her performance as Margaret Thatcher. The Crownwas also named the Best Drama Television Series of the year, over fellow nominees Lovecraft Country, Ozark, The Mandalorian and Ratched.
Criticism of HFPA
However, the night was marred by controversy over the continued lack of diversity in the members of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, who vote for the winners of the awards. Host Tina Fey said:
