Love Island fans annoyed minutes into the first episode: ‘Not the same race couples again’

Our Summer essential is back! ITV2 and ITVX aired Summer Love Island’s first episode tonight and 10 sexy singletons embarked on an eventful journey of love. Show host Maya Jama is ready to charm viewers for a second time in the 10th series of ITV2’s dating reality show.

As a summer full of flirting, romance, DRAMA and some serious fun in the Sun begins, show bosses have set the tone right with the ‘expect the unexpected’ vibe of the show since the first episode.

Love Island’s first coupling of Series 10

Love Island announced earlier last week that the power to make the first couples of the series would be given to the public. Fans slammed the ITV show for its ‘redundant’ twistas they didn’t want to play Cupid. However, the public votes still decided the first couples and they are:

Ruchee and Mehdi

Jess and George

Mitchel and Molly

Andre and Catherine

Ella and Tyrique

Although it is after the public voting that these couples were formed, many Love Island fans are furious as they expected different couples. One commented on Love Island’s Instagram post:

Not the same race couples again. I thought we all agreed to switch it up 🙂

Love Island fans furious after the first coupling of the show

Many angry fans took to social media and shared that they wanted Andre and Ruchee and Jess and Mitchel to couple up together. Seeing how the coupling put very ‘predictable’ results tonight, one said:
