Celebrity Big Brother to make a return next year and the rumoured line-up is already controversial

Big Brother UK has been a hit amongst viewers. The 16 contestants for 6 weeks experiment is going amazing well for ITV so far - so much so - that they have decided to bring back Celebrity Big Brother. According to sources, the show will return after a six-year break with a raft of controversial stars in the frame to appear.

Celebrity Big Brother to return in 2024 with a controversial lineup

Celebrity Big Brother previously aired on Channel 4 and Channel 5 until it was axed in 2018 - just like Big Brother UK. According to The Sun, a source has claimed that ITV bosses are looking to revive the celebrity version of BB UK from March next year, as the current show is topping charts in terms of rating.

A source claimed:

Celebrity Big Brother is coming back and ITV want massive names to kick it off.

CBB is the perfect place for stars who are riding off the wave of a scandal, or something big happening in their lives.

It is understood that former This Morning’sPhillip Schofield is on the top of their most wanted celebs list. Apart from him, Boris Johnson’s alleged mistress Jennifer Arcuri is the second name in running. ITV has a budget of up to £ 2million. The source added:

Phillip Schofield is someone they’re going to approach, as well as people like Jennifer Arcuri, who had an alleged fling with Boris.

They have a lot of cash to splash, just under £2million.

The bumper budget should allow for at least one or maybe two big names to set the series alight.

The decision comes after ITV saw viewers’ reaction and has now given a ‘green light’ to CBB. AJ Odudu and Will Best are understood to be the hosts of CBB as well.
