Althorp Estate, Lady Diana’s final resting place
The Althorp estate has been in the Spencer family since the 16th century. It is located in the centre of the country and about a two-hour drive from London.
Lady Diana is buried on an island that is only accessible by boat. To get to the lake that surrounds it, you have to take a path, bordered by thirty-six oaks, each marking a year of her life and her grave is guarded day and night by four black swans.
