Molly-Mae’s YouTube videos won’t be the same after ‘devastating’ burglary

You’ve probably heard by now that Love Island stars Tommy Fury and Molly-Mae Hague were victims of a burglary last week. Their deluxe Cheshire apartment was targeted on Thursday night while they were at Molly-Mae’s Beauty Works launch event in London.

According to reports, Tommy and Molly-Mae have since moved their remaining belongings out of the Cheshire flat and have vowed never to return. But don’t be expecting to get a YouTube house tour of their new place. After being left ‘shaken’ by the burglary, Molly-Mae is said to be reconsidering how much of her life she shares online.

A source who spoke to OK! Magazine said:

Molly has been left really shaken up. It was a huge robbery and it was a targeted attack. She’s now realised that she has to be more careful on social media and what she posts. She has a lot of followers and a lot of people watching her. She’s going to be so careful going forward and she’s totally learnt her lesson.

Taking a lead from Kim K

It’s not clear exactly what changes Molly-Mae will be making. As a social media influencer, showing off is a key part of her job and fans are keen to know about every aspect of her life. She may well take a lead from Kim Kardashian—who stopped posting Instagram stories ‘in real time’ after being robbed at gunpoint in Paris.

In 2019, three years after the 2016 robbery, Kim said:

I learned from a bad experience I had when I was robbed that people really knew my every move. They knew what I had, they knew where I was, what I was doing, and that to me really changed the things that I post...

I still want people to feel like they're on that journey with me, but I might video something, then post it 30 minutes later when I've left the location, more for privacy.

We wouldn't be surprised to see Molly-Mae taking similar steps.
