Love Island’s Tom and Samie split just weeks after making relationship official

Tom Clare and Samie Elishi came in third on this year’s Winter Love Island. The two entered the show as bombshells and fell in love after Tom’s troubled romances. The two made things official two weeks after the show ended as Samie called Tom her ‘Boyfriend’ on Instagram.

However, just weeks after the show finale - that crowned Kai and Sanam as the winners - Tom and Samie called off their romance. According to Mirror, the two sparked split rumours as they were spotted on separate night outs. Samie attended a Pretty Little Thing bash with fellow Love Island stars while Tom was back home with his family and friends.

The Sun also confirmed that fans feared their separation after the two failed to post each other for most of this month. Tom lives in Barnsley and Samie lives in Camden and the distance between them was apparently too much. A source claimed:

Samie and Tom have sadly decided to call it a day. There is a lot of love and respect there but it just wasn’t going anywhere.

The distance between them was too much and they are both really focused on their careers post-Love Island.

This comes after Tom earlier confessed that he would be happy to move for his Love Island - where contestant earn minimal wage - girlfriend Samie. Tom explained:

I think eventually we want to move in together but that takes time, it's not something that you rush.

I'd live wherever Samie wants to live - I'm not bothered me.

Love Island fans react to Tom and Samie break up

Tom and Samie are the first finalist couple to split, but not the first ones from the show. Before them, Casey O’Gorman and Rosie Seabrook split days after the show and Olivia Hawkins and Maxwell Samuda parted ways as well. However, Love Island fans are not surprised to see Tom and Samie’s breakup. One took to Twitter and said:

Not surprised at Tom and Samie. When asked what they liked about eachother they could only mention looks. Sexual connection will only get you so far, especially if they're not actually seeing eachother much due to separate work commitments 🤷‍♂️ #LoveIslandUK

A few others slammed the couple for calling Ron and Lana and other couples fake and said:

samie and tom have already split 😭 maybe if they focused more energy into their own relationship instead of ron and lana’s then they would’ve lasted longer than a month LOL #loveisland

Samie and Tom really had a lot to say about Ron and Lana and lasted 2 seconds 😂

Samie and Tom were never going to last….besides Tom seems to spend more time to with Casey than her

So Samie and Tom have already broken up it’s rather funny since they seemed more concerned about other couples being not so compatible and then they break up like a month after the show is over 😂 #LoveIsland
