Unexpected changes: From couple’s retreat to solo reflection

Sometimes, plans go sideways. Kerry Katona had set off to Dubai with her partner Paolo, ready to mark their very first Valentine’s together somewhere dazzling. The anticipation was real. But after just 14 hours together, as Kerry put it,

"We literally spent 14 hours together before he left."

Paolo was called back to the UK for an urgent work matter, leaving Kerry suddenly solo beneath the Dubai sun.

Was it the heartfelt Valentine’s escape she’d imagined? Not exactly. Still, Kerry made the most of her time, soaking up the sunshine and catching up on some overdue rest and work. She even found time for a mega-quick catch-up with friends Katie Price and her new husband Lee — a whirlwind 20 minutes, but sometimes that’s all you get when everyone’s got busy lives.

Dreaming of Dubai life and family milestones

Being left to her own devices sparked some honest thought. The idea of moving abroad sprang up, not entirely out of the blue. After all, Kerry had taken note of Kate and Rio Ferdinand’s recent move to Dubai last August. Would a sunnier life suit her and the kids? She didn’t sugar coat the pull, saying,

"I could probably see myself living there next year."

It’s the kind of place that makes you stop and imagine, right?

Meanwhile, back in the UK, special moments ticked by. Kerry’s youngest, Dylan-Jorge, was at school while the older kids seemed unbothered by her absence. The next big date? Heidi’s 19th birthday, a big one. Kerry’s all set to take her daughter and mates to Magic Mike Live, with the family coming together over dinner afterward. As for Paolo, even with Valentine’s plans up in the air, Kerry’s take was refreshingly practical:

"It’s just one day a year – we can celebrate our love any day, like we usually do."
