David Beckham facing safety concerns as fans find his luxury £20,000 per night hotel in Qatar

Former England player and World Cup ambassador David Beckham has been forced to leave his £20,000 per night hotel suite after fans discovered he was staying there.

Beckham was staying at the prestigious five-star Mandarin Oriental in the exclusive district of Mesheirb in Doha. However, the England legend was forced to check out early as it became common knowledge that he was a guest there. It is unknown at this stage if he has moved to a more discreet location in the city or has returned to the UK, as per the Daily Mail.

‘Sir David’

Staff at the hotel were reported to all call Beckham, ‘Sir David’, despite the player not having a knighthood. One source stated, as per The Mirror:

The staff have loved having him here and referred to him as 'Sir David' because he was so respectful and respected back by everyone.

He's been very polite and charming to the staff and seems like a very decent man. Sir David is one of the most famous men in world football and it's been an honour having him here. It's a pity he's no longer here but I'm sure he'll be back. Who wouldn't love staying here?

Beckham has still yet to receive the much-coveted knighthood after he was implicated in a tax avoidance scheme along with many other celebrities, though he was awarded an OBE back in 2003, as per the Daily Mail.

Hotel within a hotel

The same source went on to describe the opulent Baraha View hotel suite Beckham stayed in as ' like a hotel within a hotel’ so it was never necessary for him to ever really mix with other guests.

The suite came with its own dining area, private concierge, open-air courtyard and private pool and gym. In addition, Beckham has the use of a private chef who would cook him anything he requested, including Japanese Kobe steak and a range of pasta dishes.

Beckham also had the use of a private entrance and lobby and was chauffeured around in a limousine with blacked-out windows as he explored the city and went to World Cup games.

It is believed Beckham signed a £150 million deal over ten years with Qatar to be its ambassador in a controversial move that has caused a lot of fallout with fans around the world, as well as the LGBTQ+ community. Beckham has yet to comment on the deal and refused to answer reporters’ questions about the criticism he has received at this World Cup, as per the Daily Mail.
