Moreover, many praised Roberts for performing despite having an ostomate which is described by Colostomy UK as a ‘an opening on the surface of the abdomen which has been surgically created to divert the flow of faeces or urine.’
This surgery can be had in order to treat several health issues including ‘cancer, diverticulitis and Crohn’s disease’ as well as trauma to the abdomen. Adele Roberts had to go through this procedure after she battled bowel cancer.

Since then, Roberts had often taken to Instagram to show that you can continue to live and be active with a stoma. An effort which was really appreciated online when she skated for the first time on 21 January.
