Contrary to popular beliefs, a behavioural expert has revealed that women on the whole are happier when unmarried while men are happier when married. Click the video to find out the surprising reasons why.

While marriage hosts a whole range of benefits for men, women seem to fair much worse despite preconceived notions of the past. In fact, marriage is said to shorten a woman’s lifespan and could negatively affect overall well-being.

The expert revealed, “The healthiest and happiest sub-group are women who never married or had children.”

Moreover, he discovered when conducting the survey that women only claimed to be happier when their spouse stayed with them in the room.

Married people are happier than other population sub-groups but only when their spouse is in the room when they’re asked how happy they are.”
