Everyone’s aware of the concept of love languages but most people undermine its importance. However, a new study has confirmed they’re an essential part of any relationship.

The five kinds of love languages are popular, but a new study has not confirmed that they’re equally important to understand and use. The Sun confirms that the key to a healthy relationship is speaking your partner’s love language.

Speak for your partner

The research studied 100 couples who had been together for up to 24 years and came to the conclusion that it’s essential to speak your partner’s love language. The participants of the study were aged from 17 to 58 years and they completed a questionnaire that was developed on prior research on the topic.

After thoroughly analysing the participants' love language, their relationships and survey answer the results that came out were intriguing. The couple who had better relationships were the ones who used their partner’s love language to express love than sticking to their own. Researcher Olha Mostova from the University of Warsaw in Poland confirmed:

What are the love languages?

Mostova insisted that most people are familiarised with the term love languages, however, the concept of it is still ‘relatively under-explored.’ Love language is how you’re conditioned to give and receive love. There are five distinct love languages:

Words of affirmation

The language acknowledges the verbal acknowledgement of affection like constant reminders of love, encouragement and reassurance.

Spending quality time together

People who speak this language feel the most loved when they spend time with their partners.
