But how do you start to learn this ancient art form?
How do you learn to squeeze your vagina?
Much like Kegels, which are designed to strengthen your pelvic floor (promoting bladder and bowel health), Pompoir starts with the same premise: learning to control over your vaginal muscles.

Nevertheless, you can start by practising Kegels, which requires you to squeeze your vagina as though stopping a flow of urine for 3 seconds at a time. This creates an upward pull in the vagina muscles, one of the many different movements that make up the Pompoir repertoire.

Pompoir primarily focuses on four different motions: the squeeze, the contraction, the push, and the pull. Employing these motions during sex (sometimes called milking the penis) allows the vagina owner to have more control during penetration whilst increasing their partner's and their own pleasure.

Then you can practise the push and pull technique!
What is the push and pull or 'elevator' technique?
During this technique you want to switch between a push and pull movement. Here's how:
- Start by pushing, as if you are trying to get the last drop of pee out.
- Next start to pull up slowly as you would do during a Kegel.
- Once you've pulled up as far as you can, count to 5 while tensed then release slowly over another count of 5 (or 3 for beginners).
- Repeat these actions 10 times in total (the slower the better, so that you can feel all of your muscles one by one).
When you feel confident enough to pull out these moves on your partner, we're sure they'll love the added sucking sensations!
