We often don’t have to look very far to know if we are doing something wrong health-wise. The body is a very apt communicator as it uses specific symptoms to warn us should there be anything worth noting. One of the largest organs in our body is our skin, and since it is in contact with the harsh climate of the world, most of the changes it goes through are often mistakenly attributed to external factors when, in fact, it is the opposite that is true. Bumps around the eyes

Yellow bumps around the eyes or nose are made of cholesterol deposits. While they can be normal, they could also mean that you have high cholesterol. So if they are persistent, it is recommended to get checked out.

Acne

While this is a completely normal part of adolescence and adulthood for some. If you ever develop new sudden acne that is different or more extreme than anything you’ve experienced before, it could be a sign of a hormonal imbalance.

Dry and itchy skin

The thyroid helps with the regularisation of the body’s hormones and when the gland is affected by any issues this can reflect on the skin and hair.

Scaly bumps on knuckles

This is another symptom that may look harmless or normal but it could be alluding to an issue named dermatomyositiswhich is an inflammatory muscle disease that leads to acute muscle weakness. These bumps do not only appear on the knuckles but on all muscles used to extend or straighten joints, this includes elbows, knees and toes as well.

Cracked lips

Constantly cracked lips, despite overzealous use of chapstick could be a sign of anutrient deficiency. Vitamin B or lack thereof could be the culprit.
