Researchers at the University Hospital of Zurich in Switzerland recently made a surprising discovery. They have in fact revealed that for a couple to increase their chances of conceiving a child, they ought to try at a certain time of day.

A discovery which could change the lives of many people who despite trying their best to conceive, don’t always find it easy. By studying 12,200 semen samples taken from over 7,000 men aged between 25 and 40, the study found that semen was of the greatest quality and concentration at 7.30 in the morning. But this isn’t all.

Scientists at the university also shed light on another interesting fact. Between 8.31 and 10am, the sperm cells were generally at their healthiest, and this ultimately resulted in the cells travelling at a quicker speed to reach the ovum.

Furthermore, the different seasons also have an impact. According to the study, the ideal time of year to conceive a child is during springtime. To be more precise, between March and May. During this time period, the researchers noted that sperm is of the highest quality, compared to in summer when the quality of sperm cells can be adversely affected by the heat.
