Another benefit of this amazing plant is allantoin. A chemical compound that actually helps protect and heal the skin. For a DIY skincare cream, you can dry the leaves of the broadleaf plantain plant and add them to a glass jar with coconut oil. Place the jar in a pot of boiling water and let it simmer sealed so the leaves can diffuse in the oil. Do this for about 2 hours and then strain the leaves from the oil. Add some beeswax to the mix and repeat the process. When the wax has infused with the oil sufficiently remove and let cool.
