What is tryptophan?

Tryptophan is an amino acid that is needed for children to properly grow as it helps the body maintain and produce protein, muscles, enzymes and neurotransmitters. It is an essential amino acid, which means that your body cannot organically produce it itself, but must instead be added through one's diet.
