The new Eris Covid-19 strain is spreading fast
Brits have been warned over a new Eris Covid strainthat sees cases rise across the country.
Figures show that it is now the second most prevalent variant in the UK, closely behind Arcturus, which makes up almost half of all infection cases at 39.4%, according to the UK Health authorities.

Eris is currently present in one in seven infected in Britain.
On July 1, 3.3 people out of every 100,000 had Covid – but that has now jumped significantly, with 7.2 having it as of July 29.
More under this adMore under this adUK health authorities listed Eris as a variant of concern although they are not in a rush to jump to conclusion.
Dr Mary Ramsay, head of immunisation at the UK Health Security Agency said:
We continue to see a rise in Covid-19 cases in this week’s report. We have also seen a small rise in hospital admission rates in most age groups, particularly among the elderly.
According to Ramsay, overall levels of admission still remain extremely low and the authorities are not currently seeing a similar increase in ICU admissions.

These are the main symptoms of the new Eris Covid-19 variant
The doctors warn that Sore throat, Runny nose and Blocked nose all can indicate the new strain of Covid.
Sneezing, Dry cough and Wet cough and Headache also made the list.
Hoarse voice, Muscle aches and Altered smell are other key signs to watch for.
More under this adMore under this adAs health experts continue to study the new variant and update the range of symptoms, at the moment shortness of breath, a loss of smell and a fever don’t seem to be linked to the new Eris variant.
